Felix Anderl on Activism in Indonesia: From the Local to the Global and Back

"20 Years of Left-Wing Activism in Indonesia and Back: From the Local to the Global and Back"

In this recently published piece in German for Stiftung Asienhaus, Felix Anderl reflects on the trajectory of left-wing political groups (feminist and peasant activists) after the end of Suharto’s rule in Indonesia, explaining how they enthusiastically joined international political fora for a few years, cherishing internationalism and transnational networking, only to turn away from international institutions during the 2000s.
