Jan Eijking

Jan Eijking is a Junior Research Fellow at Brasenose College, University of Oxford, as well as a postdoctoral associate at the Oxford Martin Programme on Changing Global Orders.

His first book project, based on his doctoral dissertation, investigates the historical emergence of a conception of internationality as separate from politics and in need of legitimation by scientific and technical experts. Parts of this project have been published by International Studies Quarterly (2022 and 2023) and awarded the EISA Best Graduate Paper Prize, the ISA Barbara W. Tuchman Prize, the ISA Theory Section Pre-PhD Paper Prize, and the ISA-Northeast Fred Hartmann Award.
Jan currently works on a new project on the relationship between crisis management, crisis construction, and global order at three early-twentieth century international organisations. He has written for public outlets including Responsible Statecraft and The Conversation.
